SMC multi-Media is offering its full-featured single fiber fusion splicer and OEM, which featuring auto-check of fiber end-face, auto-calculation of the splicing loss, auto-select suitable fusion program and simultaneous X and Y views. It is intended for splicing dispersion shifted, non-zero dispersion shifted, and erbium doped fibers; it is suitable for both single mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) fiber optic applications. Fusion splicing is preferred over mechanical splices for its inherent durability and strength.
This fiber fusion splicer and OEM, model 1202, has an optional outer heater which can heat 4 protecting sleeves simultaneously. It contains a large memory and is able to store 5,000 groups of splice results. The single fiber fusion splicer automatically adjusts to environmental conditions using built-in temperature, humidity and pressure sensors which provide constant feedback signals to control the fusion arc temperature. The average splicing loss is 0.01dB in multi-mode and 0.02dB in single mode; the typical splicing time is ten seconds; the typical heating time is 60s.
